Tell Speaker Straus you support privacy in Texas showers, locker rooms, and bathrooms

Speaker Joe Straus has said repeatedly that the Texas Privacy Act, SB 6, is not a priority for him this session. The privacy and safety of Texas' women and children ought to be at the top of Speaker Straus' priorities.

The Texas Privacy Act is a commonsense law that would protect the privacy and safety of Texas schoolchildren, guard against unwanted intrusions into showers, bathrooms, and locker rooms in government buildings, and maintain Texas' strong business-friendly environment.

Speaker Straus recently told reporters he is "not a fan" of the Texas Privacy Act. If you're a fan of privacy and safety in showers, locker rooms, and bathrooms, then Speaker Straus needs to hear from you today!

Please call Speaker Straus today: 512-463-1000. Ask him to bring the Texas Privacy Act (SB 6) to the floor for a vote.

The Texas Privacy Act was approved by a strong Senate vote, 21 -10. But to become law it must get a vote in the House. Please call Speaker Straus and tell him the Texas Privacy Act deserves a vote.

Texas' women and children are counting on you to stand up to special interest pressure. Please call Speaker Straus right now, then use this link to tell your Representative how you feel. Please call today!

Unfortunately, it has been co-opted by liberal abortion groups that attempt to push the abortion and population control agenda under the guise of “reproductive health care.” At least this year for the ... Trump Returns Authority Over School Transgender Policies to States and Localities

by Peter Sprigg

Peter Sprigg is Senior Fellow for Family Policy Studies at Family Research Council. This article appeared in The Stream on February 26, 2017. On February 22, the Trump administration released a statement rescinding previous Obama administration guidance dealing with students who identify as transgender. Contrary to almost all the news reporting on this story, the real question addressed by the new administration’s guidance is not (at least not directly), “Which restrooms or locker rooms should students who identify as ... Gorsuch's Pro-Life Promise

by Arina Grossu

Arina Grossu is Director of the Center for Human Dignity at Family Research Council. This article appeared in US News and World Report on March 21, 2017. In the opening statement of his confirmation hearing, Judge Neil Gorsuch pledged that he will do all in his power "to be a faithful servant of the Constitution." While we cannot be sure how he will rule on abortion, his tone was measured and we can expect a textual, neutral, faithful application of the Constitution. This type of originalist approach will translate into rulings protecting ... (more)
