Does it matter if a family has no dad? For far too many families in America, the question isn't academic. Fathers, much too often, are absent - and everyone suffers.
Low graduation rates, juvenile arrests, teen pregnancies and just the general social dysfunction that we see in our families today can often be traced to the abandonment of families by their fathers.
Join us at noon on Thursday, March 8th as pastor, youth counselor, and former National Football League player Freddie Scott explains why our families need fathers and discusses opportunities to strengthen fatherhood in your own community.
Freddie Scott is the founder and president of Unlock the Champion, LLC, an organization dedicated empowering families and the teaching of fundamental life skills essential to character development for people who are raised in broken homes, especially athletes. His most recent research has made him aware of the tremendous need, now more than ever, for strong fathers in America's ever-changing culture and across the world. This understanding inspired his first book, The Dad I Wish I Had.
Today Pastor Scott travels throughout America speaking on such issues as family, character development, and personal goals. He has spoken to thousands, helping them learn the skills not to be imprisoned by the pain of their past. He is an NFL Spokesman for Tony Dungy's organization All Pro Dad, a partner with the Family Research Council, the Dean of the Spiritual Growth Institute, and also the Assistant Pastor at Word of Faith Christian Center - Nashville where he manages numerous administrative tasks. Pastor Scott aims for excellence, always going 'the extra mile' and doing what it takes to get the job done.
Pastor Scott balances all these responsibilities along with those of being the husband of his beautiful wife, Tondalanea, and the proud father of four very active sons and one adorable daughter.
