Call to Action for Senate Bill 89
Senate Bill 89 creates the "Religious Bill of Rights for Individuals Connected to Public Schools." This bill would allow the State Board of Education to establish a list of religious rights that students and faculty members are entitled to.
SB 89 would specifically allow students, teachers and administrators to express their religious beliefs on a public school campus or at a school sponsored event to the same extent as they may express a personal secular viewpoint, use a religious greeting, wear religious clothing, and sing religious songs.
Colorado Family Action supports this bill because it would also create an opt out provision to individuals for classes or course material that are in conflict with the individuals moral beliefs.
Senate Bill 89 is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, February 3rd at 1:30pm.

Please contact the member of the Senate Judiciary and encourage them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 89 because you want to protect your student's, teacher's, and administrator's First Amendment Right to express their religious views without reprimand.
