Family Research Council

Action

November 14, 2012 - Wednesday

Before you read another word, take a moment now to say a prayer for our nation and Family Research Council. With the re-election of Barack Obama, we now face one of the greatest challenges of our lifetime.

Make no mistake about it, as a second-term president, he will be unrestrained in an agenda that strips you of your religious liberty and redefines the family.

President Obama has already made it crystal clear that religion should be confined within the walls of your church or the privacy of your home. In this mindset, there is little place in America for those who wish to live by and express their Christian faith in the workplace or in any "public" space.

Likewise, he has come out openly in favor of same-sex "marriage," abortion on demand funded by taxpayers, and the redefinition of the family, all of which are in direct conflict with biblical teaching.

As I have often said, religious freedom and the family are the bedrock of American society. Destroy these and you destroy our country.

Continue To Stand With FRC

Yes, there is no denying that the election results were discouraging. However, we must never lose sight of the fact that in this life no victory or defeat is permanent! We must continue to stand.

Emboldened by the election results, President Obama and his supporters are already mounting their next attacks on faith, family, and freedom. Clear examples include two U.N. treaties they are pushing under the radar toward ratification by the Senate.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) would put Americans under international governance, and take away parental rights.

The Law of the Sea Treaty would create an international maritime bureaucracy that would effectively give an international organization taxing authority over the United States, siphon millions of dollars out of our economy, and redistribute it to other nations. It also would bar the U.S. Navy from defending waterways critical to our country's security.

FRC's Continuing Efforts

In addition to doing all we can to stop these treaties, FRC will redouble our efforts to ...

  • Prevent radical homosexual activists from making further gains in the U.S. military and placing service members and our nation at even greater risk.
  • Protect religious freedom in our military for chaplains and the men and women serving in our armed forces.
  • Compel the Department of Justice to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act and oppose further efforts by the Obama administration to destroy marriage as between one man and one woman.
  • Challenge the provisions of ObamaCare which require taxpayers to fund abortion and support states refusing to set up Insurance Exchanges.
  • Stop the Employment Non-Discrimination Act from forcing people to deny their moral convictions in the workplace.

This is an uphill battle indeed. The liberal forces arrayed against us are dedicated and formidable. But we have biblical truth on our side and our God calls us to stand for truth in love whether it is politically expedient or not. I am asking you to stand with FRC and me so that together we will all stand strong and faithful in the tough days ahead.

We ask you to stand with us in three important ways. First, pray unceasingly for our country and FRC. Second, do not be discouraged. Truth will win over evil. Third, give generously to FRC. Your faithful financial support is essential now more than ever to help us restore our country to those biblical values that make America an exceptional nation.
