Action

January 10, 2013 - Thursday

On January 21st, Barack Obama will be inaugurated for a second term as President of the United States--a stark reminder that by a small margin the American people have embraced radical socialistic policies that are leading our nation down a dark path away from the light of its founding freedoms.

And no freedom is more threatened right now than your religious liberty.

In its first four years, the Obama administration has launched an all-out offensive to force Christians to fund abortions, legitimize same-sex "marriage," muzzle military chaplains, and silence Christian activity in the public square. The Obama administration knows that if they can restrict religious freedom, then it will be that much easier to regulate all the other freedoms we now enjoy as Americans.

This is why I strongly encourage you to take action today by standing with Family Research Council (FRC) to help rescue our nation before we are too far down this path. Your prayers and renewed financial commitment to FRC are essential if we are to prevail.

We can prevail

While we will not win every battle that lays ahead in 2013, I am confident of this: The results of this election have not changed the sovereignty of God nor will it alter His eternal truths.

As we begin 2013, FRC is ready to do its part in meeting every challenge head-on. When it comes to preserving human life, marriage and family, and religious freedom, the best defense is a powerful offense. FRC will not only stand on God's truths but aggressively advance biblical values--even in the face of renewed hostility.

It is now much more costly to be an overt follower of Jesus Christ. Persecution is definitely on the rise. But FRC will not back down--we never have in our 30 years in Washington, D.C.

FRC Depends On Your Faithful Support

Your first gift to FRC in 2013, along with God's continued favor, will enable us to accomplish great things. As always, FRC will continue to be a strong presence on Capitol Hill. We'll monitor key bills in Congress and work to block the implementation of any legislation, regulation and executive order that will further erode faith, family and freedom. We'll hold elected officials accountable.

Your support will help FRC give conservatives in the House and Senate the information, ideas and support they must have to fight the good fight against overwhelming odds. And we'll lead our allies and mobilize Christians nationwide to keep the phones ringing on Capitol Hill.

On the offensive

All across America we will equip and encourage others like you who understand the urgency of the times to faithfully stand for faith, family and freedom.

There is a void when it comes to issue-oriented talk radio coming from Washington, D.C. with a Christian perspective. That is why we have launched a daily nationwide radio program that initially will be aired on over 125 radio stations! This live, one-hour talk show format will discuss the issues of the day from a biblical perspective. There is no other radio talk program in America like this one.

Second, FRC will aggressively counter Hollywood and the liberal media efforts to claim that the American people gave President Obama a mandate. We'll do this through hard-hitting media interviews, op-ed articles in newspapers, and we'll especially take advantage of social media and the Internet. We'll utilize creative video productions and Internet social networking to expose the Left's lies and distortions. We'll give hope and encouragement to conservatives across America to join us and stay in this fight.

With your help, we'll shape the debate and win the battle of ideas.

Third, FRC will rally our nationwide network of over 18,000 pastors across America to encourage their congregations to exercise their constitutional rights and turn up the heat on our leaders when they attempt to radicalize America and silence Christians in the public square.

Power of prayer

But as important as your financial support is, I--FRC--especially need your prayers.

If you read Luke 18, you'll find that prayer does several things: it moves the heart of God and helps us see His will; it prepares us for the troubles that lay ahead; it gives us the strength to go on; and, it teaches us to view life from an eternal perspective.

Even more importantly, God hears our prayers and that can lead to miracles!

The nation needs FRC

"I don't know where our nation would be if FRC were not here," I am often told by members of Congress. While our work is not always public, our absence would speak volumes.

Unlike many on the Left, FRC doesn't receive one dime of support from the federal government. Yet, even without Hollywood and the media on our side, we can win because we serve a God who is more powerful than all of the forces who hate the truth and America, the nation we love and call home.

We must trust Him and, by faith, move into action immediately in 2013.

We need not be discouraged when facing seemingly unconquerable opposition. The HHS mandate in ObamaCare that forces people of conscience to pay for abortions via their health insurance plans is not a done deal. We will fight this encroachment on religious liberty and threat to human life with every resource we have.

We have already rallied over 150,000 individuals to stand with Hobby Lobby through our social media outreach as this private company faces over $1.3 million in fines each day for abiding by their religious convictions and refusing to pay for abortion-inducing drugs. FRC may also potentially be forced to file our own lawsuit against HHS--the Obama Administration's Department of Health and Human Services--to stop this horrendous provision of nationalized health care.

We also will fight to stop the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) which would also be a major blow to religious liberty.

FRC is ready to shift into overdrive in 2013.

Now is not the time to shrink away from the fray. We must work even harder to restore the vision of America's Founders and keep America's First Freedom--religious liberty--and all our liberties, intact.

Simply hoping for a better tomorrow will not suffice. We can't afford to sit back and watch our liberty be taken from us. So please stand with FRC in 2013 and give the most generous gift possible.

Whether you can give $500 or $50, every dollar will be immediately put to work to help advance faith, family and freedom. I need you to stand boldly with me, and with FRC.

Thank you for helping Family Research Council move forward in 2013.
