FRC, Heritage Foundation Hold 'Conservative Women Leaders Speak Out' Press Conference
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tomorrow in Richmond, the Family Research Council (FRC) and The Heritage Foundation will hold a joint press conference entitled, "Conservative Women Leaders Speak Out." The event will begin at 12:15 p.m. in front of One James Center, 901 East Cary Street.
Speakers include Becky Norton Dunlop of The Heritage Foundation; Kay Coles James of The Gloucester Institute; Victoria Cobb of The Family Foundation of Virginia; and Cathy Ruse of the Family Research Council. The participants will debunk the idea that conservatives are attacking women's rights, and discuss how the Obama administration is attacking religious liberty.
FRC and the Heritage Foundation are conducting a joint, nationwide bus tour until the Nov. 6 elections. The "Values Bus" tour is raising awareness about critical values issues that must be addressed by the next president and Congress. En route, the FRC is registering voters and signing up "Champions" to lead voter registration drives. Heritage is educating voters about "Saving the American Dream" - its blueprint for restoring fiscal responsibility to Washington, D.C.
Connie Mackey, president of FRC Action PAC, said the following:
"As we approach the most important election of our time, it is essential that conservatives of every stripe step up to speak against the divisions President Obama depends upon for victory in the fall elections. The conservative women speaking in Richmond are only a few of the thousands of women leaders who stand firmly for the values that made this country great and who look forward to getting this country back on the right road. Each of these respected leaders will address the myth of the 'war on women' and bring truth to what has made this a great country such as religious liberty, smaller government, respect for life, marriage and a return to the rule of law."
Genevieve Wood, vice president at The Heritage Foundation, said:
"From health care to the economy, the policies promoted by this administration and their allies on the left are a direct attack on individual freedom and free enterprise - and that is a threat to all Americans, including women."
