iPledge Sunday Live Simulcast to Reach Thousands of Churches, Home Groups in Largest Pre-Election Gathering of Christian Voters
Charlotte, NC Simulcast to feature Tony Perkins, Rick Santorum, Franklin Graham, Kirk Cameron, Dr. Fred Luter, and Shirley Dobson among others
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - On Sunday, September 9, Family Research Council (FRC) and the American Family Association (AFA) will co-host a nationwide, live simulcast event at the First Baptist Church of Charlotte. FRC President Tony Perkins will serve as host for the simulcast which will also feature former Senator Rick Santorum, actor and producer Kirk Cameron, Shirley Dobson, and video messages from Franklin Graham, and Dr. Fred Luter, the new president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Called "iPledge Sunday: A Call to Faith, Family, and Freedom," the simulcast will gather Christians from across the country to celebrate Christian citizenship and exhort Christians to rise up on Election Day and make their voices heard. Thousands of churches and home groups are pledged to participate in what is expected to be the largest nationwide pre-election gathering of Christian voters.
"On iPledge Sunday, Christians across America will gather to make a pledge in this election," said FRC President Tony Perkins. "This event could very well be the largest pre-election gathering of Christian voters. Thousands of congregations and home groups will be informed, equipped, and challenged to pray for the upcoming election, prepare by registering themselves and others to vote, and participate by voting on Election Day."
Prior to the simulcast, FRC President Tony Perkins, Sen. Santorum, New York City Councilman Fernando Cabrera and Bishop Harry Jackson will hold a news conference to pre-view the simulcast and discuss the role of values voters in this year's election.
