Research Assistant for Life Studies (Part-Time)

The Research Assistant for Life Studies will help to carry out research and daily activities related to life issues and provide general office research and writing. The Research Assistant (RA) will also compile, analyze and maintain research on various life and bioethics topics; assist substantively with policy and legislative analysis, writing and briefing, as directed. It will also be the responsibility of the RA to prepare and maintain data files, transcribe, edit, prepare for review, create and merge data files for sending letters, faxes and reports generated by supervisors. The RA will also perform routine clerical tasks such as printing, copying, scanning, phone and faxing duties and provide other staff assistance as directed by supervisors. Conduct periodic office tours for FRC guests as directed. The RA must be comfortable with interpersonal communication electronically, by phone, and in person. The RA will be expected to participate in ongoing program of professional development and training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent in this position must have a College degree; preference for someone with a degree in biology or substantial pro-life experience. Legislative experience a plus. Strong organizational and administrative skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. This position requires high proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate must be able to do high level of research and have proven ability to carry out multiple tasks in a busy environment. The successful candidate must have a professional telephone manner and experience in maintaining files, be organized, focused, detail and task-oriented. The successful must also be able to work well under pressure; be productive, competent and dependable individual with team spirit. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a knowledge and interest in the science and ethics of life issues from conception to natural death. Must have a willingness to work hard and have an enthusiasm for FRC's mission.
