Being an Intercessor for the Lord

…Proclaim liberty and freedom throughout all the land… (Leviticus 25:10)
God calls us to walk this world and spread His Gospel. But the journey of an intercessor is long and trying. Look back at the story of Daniel, when Daniel received great visions from the Lord and talked with the angel Gabriel (Daniel 9). Gabriel saw that Daniel was tired and weak, so the Angel said to him "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed… peace! Be strong now, be strong." (Daniel 9:19). Gabriel said these things to Daniel to give him strength and courage for the things that were to come.
We can glean from this story that even a man as great and esteemed as Daniel can grow weary. It is natural for intercessors to become tired and to even get close to giving up. But we must all understand that we are not alone. We are always guided by the one true God whom we are serving. And there is one Chief Intercessor Who "is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them" (Heb 7:25). There is a spiritual battle always happening in the Heavens and God is always the winner!
There are times that intercessors are called to pray for things that we don't quite comprehend or understand. God calls us to pray for things that we might never know the conclusion to; we may sometimes wonder if our prayers ever worked. But seeing solutions isn't what being an intercessor for Christ is about. Being an intercessor is about being obedient in prayer, continuing in our faith, and helping others see God's light. This is what Call2Fall is all about, praying to God to give us and this nation the strength to keep going! So even if we grow tired because we cannot see our prayers being answered, we must be persistent and never give up on God, as He can work in complex and complicated ways. God gives us strength to carry on, just as He gave Daniel strength.
- Thank you, God, for the strength that you provide us. We know that sometimes You work in ways that we cannot comprehend, but we know that you hear our prayers and are working on our behalf. We pray that we stay persistent in doing your good deeds and bringing people into Your wonderful light.
