Arkansas State Rep. Jim Dotson Joins Washington Watch Radio to Share How Public Schools are Now Displaying "In God We Trust" in the Classroom

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Arkansas State Rep. Jim Dotson appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. On the show, Rep. Dotson talked about Arkansas school districts beginning to display "In God We Trust" posters in their classrooms.

Rep. Dotson sponsored the law that now allows the national motto to be on display in public schools across Arkansas, "It was a fairly simple bill that talks about the display of the national motto in our public buildings in the state of Arkansas. It didn't provide any money or resources, but it required the building administrators to put up and display the national motto 'In God We Trust' if a framed copy or poster is provided to them to do so.

"The American Legion is leading the charge and is collecting resources and donations to purchase frames and posters to give to the public buildings. Part of the bill actually stated that elementary and secondary education buildings, so K-12, it had to go in all the classrooms and libraries if they were donated," concluded Rep. Dotson.
