WASHINGTON, D.C. - Family Research Council President Tony Perkins released the following statement regarding Charlottesville:

"We join with Christians across the country in extending our hearts and prayers toward Charlottesville and the victims and families who have had their lives turned upside down by this horrific act of evil. I condemn this act of terror that is meant to intimidate and silence. When it comes to supremacy, Christians in America have room for only One. His supremacy leaves no room for rivals.

"My prayer is that this will be a moment when America turns to God -- where the only true redemption and healing can be found. The source of America’s hope and future is found in the same place it’s always been: under God. Only through a vibrant and public Christian faith can we hope to not just restrain evil, but conquer evil through the power of God’s grace," Perkins concluded.
