WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Family Research Council's Arina Grossu, Director of the Center for Human Dignity, spoke alongside other local and national pro-life leaders at a press conference that took place in front of a recently opened late-term abortion facility in Bethesda, Maryland. According to Operation Rescue, LeRoy Carhart is operating his new facility without a required facility license and already has a history of endangering women's health and safety.

Ms. Grossu made the following comments at the rally:

“We are here today because LeRoy Carhart, one of the most notorious late-term abortionists in America, moved his gruesome baby-killing business to a new address. In the seven years of conducting late-term abortions at his former facility in Germantown, at least ten women were rushed to hospital emergency rooms by ambulance, suffering from life-threatening complications as a result of the risky abortion procedures he performed on them. Additionally, women have died as a result of his negligence.

“Late-term abortion is very dangerous and particularly gruesome. The later in pregnancy an abortion occurs, the riskier it is and the greater the chance for significant complications… And here is one of the main centers in America that will continue this practice unless we stop it by changing our laws.” concluded Grossu.
