Social Conservative Review: July 1, 2016

July 01, 2016

The power of prayer is an amazing thing. On a recent Delta Airlines flight, football star Tim Tebow prayed with and comforted the family of a man who suffered a heart attack during the flight. This witness of prayer to a family in need is an inspiring example of how we are all called to share our faith in a personal way with others. As Tebow explained in an interview this past February, “Our purpose is to bring faith, hope and love to those in their darkest hour of need. And those people are everywhere. You just have to open your eyes to see them.”

Even if we are not physically present during traumatic events, believers are still called to pray in a personal way for those in their darkest hour from afar. Let us remember in a particular way those who have lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks in Orlando and Istanbul. If possible, pray for the victims by name as well as for the comfort of their families. This personal and specific prayer adds power and meaning to our efforts in finding healing from horrific events that we may leave us feeling hopeless and helpless. As Christ said in Mark 11:24, “I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.”

FRC is making prayer a priority. Please join in our 8th annual Call2Fall National Prayer Movement. We are asking pastors and churches to consider setting aside time during worship on Sunday, July 3rd to call their people to get on their knees before the Lord in prayer and ask Him to restore and renew our country.

Thank you for your prayers and for your continued support of FRC and the family, and may you have a happy and blessed 4th of July.

Sincerely,

Dan Hart
