Religious liberty in America has long been a cherished freedom. In recent decades, reaction to displaying that religion in the public sphere has grown increasingly hostile. What is being done about this slow and methodical attack on the First Freedom? From prayer in schools to speaking against sin in a public place, there are numerous ways that religious liberty has been attacked. It is imperative that we make ourselves aware of the battle fronts and support those who stand as sentinels against encroachment on our first freedom. Join FRC for an informative and important discussion on religious liberty with Kellie Fiedorek, Ken Klukowski, and Adele Keim.

Adele Keim joined the Becket Fund as Legal Counsel in 2012 after spending four years as an associate in the appellate practice at Winston & Strawn in Washington, D.C. From 2007 to 2008, Adele clerked for Hon. Edith Brown Clement on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans. Before she became a lawyer, Adele worked for a Canadian Member of Parliament and spent two years covering international religious freedom and social issues for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.

Adele received her A.B. in Politics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 2001 and graduated from Notre Dame Law School with honors in 2007.

Kellie Fiedorek has extensive experience in constitutional law and federal issues related to life and freedom of conscience. She serves as litigation counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom at its Washington, D.C., Regional Service Center, where she is an invaluable member of the Center for Marriage and Family.

Since joining Alliance Defending Freedom in 2012, Fiedorek has focused on providing legislative bodies and organizations with sound legal guidance on legislation pertaining to marriage and family issues. She has drafted numerous legal memos outlining the need to safeguard the constitutionally-protected freedom of religion for all citizens in same-sex "marriage" and civil union bills. She also testified before the Rhode Island House Judiciary Committee on the absence of appropriate protections for religious freedom in a state bill attempting to redefine marriage.

Fiedorek believes respect for the dignity of the human person is central to understanding religious freedom and the important role marriage and family have in society. Through her legal efforts, she is committed to protecting marriage and family and safeguarding religious freedom for all Americans.

Prior to joining Alliance Defending Freedom, Fiedorek was staff counsel and director of federal government affairs for Americans United for Life from 2010-2012. She provided key counsel to members of Congress and their staff on the enactment of critical pieces of life-affirming legislation. She was also the coordinator and co-founder of the AUL initiative "Advocates for Life," a national association for pro-life law students.

A prolific writer, Fiedorek was a contributor to AUL's publication Defending Life and a coauthor of AUL's Constitutional Law and Abortion, a primer for law school students. She also coauthored AUL's July 2011 report The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood, which helped lead to the current congressional investigation into the abortion giant.

Fiedorek has appeared in numerous media outlets, including Fox News, NPR, and the BBC. She has also been quoted in The Washington Post and The Washington Times.

Fiedorek earned her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law in 2009. Before graduating from law school, she completed the Alliance Defending Freedom leadership development program to become a Blackstone Fellow in 2008. She received her B.A. in theology in 2006, graduating cum laude from the University of Dallas.

Fiedorek is a member of the state bar of Florida. She currently resides in the Washington, D.C. area.

Ken Klukowski serves as Director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the Family Research Council. Klukowski is a contributor to many media outlets, including Fox Forum at FOXNews.com, BigGovernment.com and Townhall.com and is a fellow and senior legal analyst with the American Civil Rights Union.
