Stand Courageous in Chino California!

March 23, 2021

The FRC Stand Courageous Men's Ministry Team was on the road again this past weekend in southern California. Hosted by our good friend Pastor Jack Hibbs at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, 3,000 men packed out the worship center and overflowed onto outdoor space to hear our stable of speakers as well as attend standing room only breakouts.

Based on Lt. General Jerry Boykin's recent book, Man to Man, each of the main stage speakers explored five facets of what it means to be a biblical man. Bishop Larry Jackson spoke on man as a Provider, and not just one who provides material resources, but also provides presence and spiritual leadership. He challenged the men from Ephesians 5:25 to out-serve their wives "by a mile," with the memorable acronym B.A.M! Boykin then challenged the men to find and develop a relationship with a Battle Buddy, which is a military term for men who have joined themselves together to support each other in conflict, to have each other's back.

Pastor Jack Hibbs took up the topic of man as an Instructor and the importance of men to not only teach the truth but to live it out. Pastor Charles Flowers challenged the men to be Defenders of our families, friends, and the defenseless against attacks that invariably come against us from Satan. Tony spoke on the final and most important role, that of Chaplain, challenging the men to be spiritual leaders and gave statistical evidence that no committed Christian father equals no family and no faith in the next generation.

After Gen. Boykin shared his testimony which is summarized in his book Never Surrender, scores of men came forward to make spiritual decisions, many of whom professed faith in Christ for the first time. More men came forward after Tony's presentation on being a Chaplain, and about half the crowd came forward to receive the "Father's Blessing" and confer a blessing on their sons and other men around them.

Randy Wilson, FRC's Director of our Men's Ministry, led one of several packed-out breakout sessions. "The men were very engaged..." he said, reflecting on the weekend. "For them this was not just another men's event. It was transformational." General Boykin agreed. "Through the power of the Holy Spirit many lives were impacted including my own at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills this past weekend. What a blessing!"

Indeed. Stay tuned to our ministry website: StandCourageous.com for upcoming conferences and a growing arsenal of resources and tools for men. We want to equip men all across America to take the next steps toward biblical manhood. In this culture that is increasingly hostile toward masculinity, our mission is to help men "Stand Courageous" for Christ, their families, and the values that made this nation great.
