Kansas Governor Laura Kelly (D) on Friday vetoed the "Forbidding Abusive Child Transitions Act" (SB 233), a bill which would protect minors from the deceptive advertising and harmful effects of gender transition procedures. After Kelly vetoed a similar measure in 2023, the Senate failed to override the veto, but legislators believe they now have the votes to successfully override the veto in 2024.

Americans woke up to plenty of terrifying headlines Sunday after Iran lobbed more than 300 missiles and drones at Israel. "The world stands at the brink of an all-out war," The Telegraph insisted. Columbian President Gustavo Petro publicly despaired, calling the weekend's attack "a prelude to World War III." Here at home, President Joe Biden continued to walk a political tightrope, declaring his "ironclad commitment to the security of Israel," while privately urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to suck it up and take whatever Iran dishes out.

In a pair of brazen attacks that occurred over the weekend, an Assyrian Orthodox bishop was stabbed during a livestreamed church service in Australia and a Catholic priest was shot multiple times during a Mass in Myanmar. Experts say the attacks are "a shocking wake-up call" to the anti-Christian persecution on the rise across the globe.

The University of Texas system is doing away with its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) staff in compliance with a new state law. The Austin American-Statesman confirmed on Friday that the University of Texas at Austin (UT) has fired nearly 70 DEI administrators, closed its Multicultural Engagement Center and Division of Campus and Community Engagement (DCCE), and shut down at least six DEI programs, including the Center for Equity and Inclusion and the Gender and Sexuality Center.

Last Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned the greatest threat is an imminent attack akin to the Islamist assault killing 145 civilians in Moscow. "Our most immediate concern has been that individuals or small groups will draw twisted inspiration from the events in the Middle East to carry out attacks here at home," Wray told the House Appropriations Subcommittee. But scenes from two courtrooms prove the Biden administration lets pro-abortion activist-criminals who target pro-life Christians off easy - while prosecuting peaceful pro-life advocates to the full extent of the law.

In 2015, religious freedom seemed compromised when a Washington high school football coach was fired for praying with his team after a game. Joe Kennedy waited roughly six years for the Supreme Court to hear the oral arguments for his case. He was represented by a Christian nonprofit legal organization, First Liberty Institute (FLI), which took the position that "no teacher or coach should lose their job for simply expressing their faith while in public." This was a notable case in 2022, and recent events have caused the issue to resurface.

More than 30 million Americans live in the path of a total eclipse that occurred on Monday, and many more saw a partial eclipse. Some Americans were so excited about the eclipse that they changed their schedule or even travelled to view it - even though it lasted for a few minutes at most. There is a more significant and longer lasting implication, however: Monday's eclipse proves the darkness at Jesus's crucifixion was miraculous. This may seem like a strange thing to say. Monday's eclipse happened nearly 2,000 years after Jesus's crucifixion. How can it be related?

For the media, abortion is the wedge issue supreme and will give them fodder for animated discussion all the way through November. For pro-abortion activists, and the Democratic Party alike, the Arizona Supreme Court decision is an opportunity to motivate their electoral base to action in light of an incumbent president who is drooping in the polls. For pro-lifers, this is an opportunity for real change in the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health decision ending the decades of violence brought about by Roe v. Wade. But an issue like this isn't unique in American history.
