If liberals will protect roosters, why not chicks? Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Back in 2007, it took just one try to outlaw the transporting of animals across state lines for cockfighting. Two hundreds and twelve Democrats co-sponsored that bill. Do you know how many co-sponsored last year's ban on transporting young girls across state lines for abortions? Three. Apparently, liberals are more concerned about chickens flying the coop than children. For eight years, pro-tried to give America's daughters the same security as its roosters through CIANA, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act. This month, Senator Marco Rubio introduced CIANA for the fourth--and hopefully last--time. Under his bill, it would be illegal to take a minor to another state for a secret abortion or to perform one without notifying parents. In a country where kids can't get their ears pierced without calling home, the same ought to apply for abortion. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case in a Congress where liberals rule the roost.
