"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington. Writing to the Christians at Corinth, Paul gives them a standard by which they should measure even the most basic activities of life like eating -- do it for the glory of God. So, if we should approach the food we consume in a way that glorifies God, should not the activity or work we engage in to acquire that food glorify God as well? The short answer? Yes. Dutch statesman and theologian, Abraham Kuyper said, "...there is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: 'Mine!"' If Jesus is our Lord, He is Lord over all aspects of our lives. This understanding was at the heart of America's founding fathers recognizing the fundamental freedom of religion -- the freedom to do all for the glory of God.
