Someone else has their hand in the Girl Scouts cookie jar -- and it's not who think. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. There are plenty of politics behind that box of Thin Mints, and you should know what they are before you go buying one. As sweet as the girls are, a lot of that cookie dough goes to straight to the group's political agenda. When they aren't partnering with Planned Parenthood, they're promoting sexual "diversity." And if that isn't bad enough, the group hired "homo-punk" rocker as its public spokesman. Joshua Ackley, lead singer of The Dead Betties, has been in the Girl Scouts communication department since 2008, where he started dishing out advice to kids. Among other things, Joshua lobbies to lower the age of sexual consent and supports abortion-on-demand. After parents complained, Ackley's name was taken off the website -- but he's still blogging for the organization. If you're looking for an alternative where character building -- not political correctness -- comes first, check out the American Heritage Girls at AHGonline.org.
