In Texas, A Womb with a ViewRick Perry may not have won in New Hampshire, but he's still got a big victory to celebrate! Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. In some good news, judges upheld Texas's sonogram law and gave the okay for leaders to start enforcing the policy. Under the new rule, women who want to abort will have to see an ultrasound first. And if that doesn't discourage them, maybe the doctor's explanation of their baby's development will. Abortion groups sued the state to keep women in the dark about their pregnancies. They think the more these moms know, the less likely they'll be to abort. But denying women "medical information," says the court, is a form of abuse. These days, people can't even play paintball without acknowledging the risks. How could we let patients undergo a major medical procedure without giving them all the facts? The media calls it a victory for pro-lifers, but women are the real winners. Texans still have the right to "choose," but at least they'll know what they're choosing. |
