You rightly say that I am. Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. Jesus spoke those controversial words before the Jewish High Court over 2000 years ago when He was asked, "Are you the Son of God." Acknowledging He was the Son of God was controversial. In writing about that confrontation between Christ , the true High Priest of God and Caiaphas the false man-made high priest, the late Dr. D. James Kennedy pointed out that Christ stood in obedience to God while Caiaphas was moved by expedience. I can only imagine the controversy that would have erupted last week if Jesus would have stood before the U.S. High Court and given the response on marriage that He gave to the Jewish lawyer. "But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female, for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife." Yes, truth is controversial, but like Our Savior, we as Christians must stand in obedience to God and not be moved by the fear of man.
