The media has never given pro-lifers the time of day--and now it's not giving them time on the air either! Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Last week's March for Life may have been the largest one ever--but you wouldn't know it from the media. According to the Media Research Center, most networks didn't think 650,000 pro-lifers were worth mentioning. ABC, NBC, and CBS devoted more time to the fake girlfriend of Notre Dame's linebacker than the real people at the March for Life. The networks spent 147 minutes on the Manti Te'o controversy versus 17 seconds for the largest pro-life demonstration in 40 years! That means a fictional love story got 521 times more coverage than an event almost as big as the presidential inauguration! In the past 10 years when the media has mentioned us, they've found a way to take the word "life" out of March for Life. Fortunately, they'll have a much harder time taking the life out of the movement!
