North Dakota -- the most pro-life state in the nation. Last week Governor Jack Dalrymple made the peace garden state one of the safest places in the nation -- babies. The first of three measures prohibits abortion if a heartbeat can be detected for a baby in the womb. Another law bans discrimination against selecting unborn babies based on their gender or genetics. A third new law requires abortion doctors to have hospital admitting privileges to care for women, if there are medical complications from the procedure. The Legislature also approved a resolution to put into the state constitution that human life begins at conception. And, the Governor will get one more chance to use his pen, with a bill to prohibit abortions once an unborn baby can feel pain, at about 20 weeks after conception.
FRC's Anna Higgins and Dr. David Prentice gave expert testimony on the legal and scientific facts that show the Truth about "the least of these," -- the unborn. As Representative Bette Grande said, "This is just a great day for babies in North Dakota." Yes it is.
