Life is on the move in the Sunflower State. Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. From bills to provide complete information to women on the health risks of abortion, to legislation to prevent discrimination against unborn babies based upon their gender, Kansas is working hard to protect and nurture life.

One Kansas measure is unique to the Heartland. The Kansas House is considering a bill to establish the Midwest Stem Cell Therapy Center, which would coordinate adult stem cell treatments and clinical trials for patients, training physicians on adult stem cell therapies, and serving as a global resource for patients and doctors. You can see a real-life example of Kansas at the cutting edge of adult stem cell treatment at FRC's website, stemcellresearchfacts.org; check out the story "Mary Lou Overcomes Leukemia."

The proposed Kansas center would be unique in all the world, with its patient-centered focus combined with training and educational resources, and would make Kansas a focal point for adult stem cell therapies.
