The NFL's Matt Birk isn't just a winner on the field--he's a hero off it. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. The White House may be closed to the public, but it's still open to the Super Bowl winners. Even that couldn't persuade Baltimore Ravens' center Matt Birk to visit for a special ceremony. "I have great respect for the office of the presidency," Birk said, "but about six weeks ago, our President said [in a speech], 'God bless Planned Parenthood.' Planned Parenthood performs 330,000 abortions a year. For God to bless a place where they're ending 333,000 lives a year? I just chose not to attend." Matt Birk, who's also been a proud supporter of marriage, told reporters that as a pro-lifer, he "couldn't endorse the President's [position] in any way." If that means sitting out the trip to make a statement, so be it. "I don't think I'm a superstar," he said, "but I'm glad for the platform football allows me." That makes two of us!
