Watch out for those gun toting' granny's! Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. The Southern Poverty Law Center, the group that was linked in federal court to the shooting at Family Research Council last August, is at it again. The SPLC recently released their revised list of so-called hate groups. No surprise, the SPLC says there are a record number. The only problem is that it appears SPLC uses the same accounting procedures as ERON. A stroll through their list and you find nearly a quarter of the groups are simply affiliates of less than a half a dozen groups. In many cases that is no more than a P.O. Box or just a state listed. They did have more information on one of their targets--Granny Warriors. Apparently, they didn't think anyone would checkout the geriatric jihadists, but a glance of their website shows steps to canning not overthrowing government. Granny Warriors founder Linda Hunnicutt, laughed at being labeled a threat. "I'm 74 years old. I have congestive heart failure. I'm sewing a quilt." I am sure the SPLC would say, that's just a cover.
