The Farm Bill isn't mooooving any time soon--and Senator Coburn thinks he knows why. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Watching this administration is enough to drive anyone to drink. And at the Agriculture Department, they're pouring more than their share. Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn pointed that out last week, when the USDA said America couldn't afford to feed a half-million needy families under the latest farm bill. That's interesting, Coburn said, because it had almost a million dollars to fund vineyards in three states, a hard cider factory in Virginia, a vodka distillery in North Carolina, and West Virginia Bloody Mary company. When they aren't going to grape' lengths for the wine industry, the agency's spending dough marketing pizza and double dipping for the ice cream industry. And if the department's in a pickle, it's because they said it was no big dill to subsidize them! If the government cared about our tax dollars, it would stop hosting Asian chef shows and start wok-ing the talk on spending.
