Where are the hounds of Separation of Church and State? Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. On Easter, President Obama attended services at St. John's Church and listened to the Rev. Luis Leon attack Christian leaders opposed to same-sex marriage. "The captains of the religious right are always calling us back, back. For blacks to be back in the back of the bus, for women to be back in the kitchen, for gays to be in the closet and for immigrants to be on their side of the border." While I question his hermeneutics, I affirm the Rev. Leon's freedom to preach what some would call politics from the pulpit. What I don't approve of is the media's double standard. In 2008, the media hounded Republican presidential candidate John McCain until he denounced two conservative pastors for politically incorrect sermons. Last year, the media did the same to Sen. Rick Santorum over comments made at a service he attended at my church. Why hasn't the media hounded the President calling on him to denounce the Leon's poisoned rhetoric?
