Christmas is gone, but the Scrooge is still here. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. With Christmas quickly fading in the rear view mirror, the War on Christmas as evidenced by the barrage of lawsuits over nativity scenes and Santa Clauses will soon be forgotten. Of course, everyone knows that the same militant atheist and secular groups will be back with their attorneys next year to snatch the candy canes out of third graders. In reality, they will never leave. The targets may change, but the mission still remains the same - drive religion, primarily Christianity from the public space. Instead of Christmas, it will be the classroom or the military or any other place where Christians dare exercise their religious freedom and live their lives according to their faith. While the attacks on Christianity have become more pronounced, they're not new. Jesus said, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated me first." The key is our response. We must love those who hate us, while at the same time standing firmly for the common truth.
