In America, we keep hearing that people need to be more accommodating to other religions. Turns out, there aren't many to accommodate. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. According to the latest poll from Pew Research Center, the U.S. isn't nearly as diverse as you'd think. Out of 232 countries, ours is only 68th on the list for religious diversity. Based on the new index, America is overwhelmingly Christian. A whopping 95% of the country describes themselves as either Christian or "religiously unaffiliated." The other five percent are a mix of Jewish, Muslim, Buddist, and Hindus. "[America] has certainly changed over the centuries," says Pew, "but it remains a nation with an overwhelming Christian majority." Unfortunately, it's also a nation held captive by a small and politically correct minority. This poll should give the church all the courage it needs to stand up and speak out! Despite what liberals say, America is a Christian nation. Now if only we could get it to act like one!
