Family Research Council believes that our nation’s school system should be welcoming to all children of all social and religious backgrounds. This means that school curriculums must be free of political and social agendas and remain focused on the primary goal of education: to prepare the next generation for success through the dissemination of basic knowledge and skills free of social and political propaganda.
Public policy should protect the right and maximize the power of parents to choose the form of education they wish for their children, be it public schools, secular or religious private schools, or homeschooling. Public schools should avoid undermining parental authority or interfering with the transmission of parental values to children. To the maximum extent possible, decision-making regarding public education should be at the local level, reflecting the priorities and values of parents and residents of the local community.
For 40 years, we've been committed to advancing faith, family, and freedom in public policy and the culture from a biblical worldview.
