Join 35,000 Americans in support for Meriam Ibrahim

I wrote you about this last week, but we still need your help. Will you lift your voice for the life of an imprisoned Christian and her two American citizen children? Or if you've already done so, will you please enlist your friends and family to help keep this story alive.

As the days of her death-row imprisonment for her faith tick by, Dr. Meriam Ibrahim's faith has not wavered. Sentenced to be hanged for converting to Christianity, and "illegally" marrying a Christian man, Meriam awaits execution in a Sudanese prison with her toddler and days-old newborn, both of whom are eligible to apply for American citizenship. The prison is a dangerous place for its convicted captives, but for children, the peril of living in these conditions is even greater. With a reported infant mortality rate of one child per day, the life of Meriam's newborn daughter is easily at risk.

Please join with me and over 35,000 other Americans in a petition to the White House asking the Obama Administration to pressure the Sudanese government to release Meriam and her children so she can escape execution and possible death of her children and be rejoined with her husband in the U.S.

The administration that was so willing to release five Taliban terrorists in exchange for an alleged deserter who had written diatribes against America has shown little-to-no interest in saving the lives of two innocent and helpless American citizens in Sudan. Where are President Obama's priorities? Why the silence in the cases of American Christians like Pastor Saeed Abedini, who has been imprisoned for over two years in Iran, or missionary Kenneth Bae, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in North Korea?

If you haven't already signed, please do. If you've already signed the petition, please ask your friends and family to add their voices. If you're worried about giving the White House your information, use a different email account to sign, but please use your real name (it's not like Obama's NSA doesn't already have it anyway...).

Help us show the White House that American Christians will not stand idly by while our government ignores the least of these.
