WASHINGTON, D.C. -Family Research Council President Tony Perkins will be in Rome, Italy November 17 - 19 to attend the "International Interreligious Colloquium on The Complementarity of Man and Woman." The conference is a historic gathering of faith leaders from several world religions who will discuss the role of marriage in society.
Perkins made the following comments on his upcoming trip to Rome:
"If liberals hoped the Vatican was softening its stance on marriage, next week's conference should set the record straight. Pope Francis will kick off the conference and is expected to address the controversy raised in last month's Synod.
"I am looking forward to attending this historic Vatican gathering which will take a look at marriage from a cultural, religious and public policy stand point," concluded Perkins.
On Monday through Wednesday, Mr. Perkins will broadcast from Rome his live daily radio show Washington Watch.
