Richmond, VA -- Strengthening the Black Family is a forum that will be held this Saturday in Richmond, Virginia to celebrate the importance of family in the black community while highlighting the challenges facing many children due to single-parent households, divorce, and poverty. Coming from the political and policy world, this leadership training is transforming the lives of participants as they work in the business and political world.
Family Research Council’s Patrina Mosley, Director of Life, Culture and Women’s advocacy made the following comment:
“This Black History Month has been washed over with media attention on politicians who have dressed in blackface or a KKK hood, alongside the fact that the Democratic party has unashamedly embraced infanticide. In spite of the apparent offense of racist costumes, nothing should offend the African-American more than those who defend abortion, which disproportionally impacts the African-American community.
“As I’ve written in a Townhall piece, ‘there is nothing more racist than annihilating a people group before they even have a chance at life. The pro-life issue should make the African-American community reevaluate what will be their priority issue when heading into the next elections. Regardless of party affiliation, no other political issue is more important than the right to exist.’
“At this time we recognize a part of America’s history: persons of the past and present who helped shape and build African-American history and culture. At the same time, we must pay tribute to those African-American lives who will not be a part of our future. We will never know the contributions to our nation that our grandchildren would have been writing about.”
“We strengthen the black family by preserving our legacy of faith in God and protecting the right to life. Changing hearts and minds on this issue will be a vital step as we head into the 2020 elections.”
