This Sunday is the last Sunday before the National Day of Prayer
April 26, 2018
I wrote last week asking you to join FRC in observing the National Day of Prayer (NDP). America was born with prayer, but it must be sustained with prayer. The moral and spiritual foundations of our nation are in great jeopardy. The need for prayer is urgent!
The National Day of Prayer could not be more opportune. I promised to send a Church Bulletin you can use to alert your church family to this important day, and to encourage them to participate this Sunday (download a reproducible two-up, front and back 5 ½ by 8 ½ Church Bulletin Insert HERE). Please use this on Sunday in all of your services. You can find out if there are NDP events planned in your area HERE - find or post an event.
The theme of this year’s NDP is Unity; the key verse, “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” Ephesians 4:3.
Our churches and nation desperately need unity. But unity will only come by God’s intervention, mercy, and grace. But if God’s people will heed and heartily comply with the instruction God gave King Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14, He will keep his promise to heal our land.
Prayer is always important, but in times like these, extraordinary prayer is needed (Joel 2:12-18). I hope you will join us in observing the National Day of Prayer. May we persevere in faith to do our part and watch in amazement as the Lord Himself intervenes to heal our land!
If there is no public observation in your area, consider opening your church and having a noon-time prayer service. Your church will benefit by joining with multiplied hundreds of thousands of believers across the land in united prayer for our nation, and in accessing God’s glorious promises.
Thank you and God bless you!
