Call2Fall is almost here!

June 08, 2018

Dear Praying Friends,

As a reader of FRC’s Prayer Team Targets, or by being part of previous Call2Falls, you have helped thousands of churches and millions of Americans come together on their knees in repentance and prayer for our nation on the Sunday before the 4th of July.

We have sought God’s face together to proclaim our nation’s dependence upon God before we and our fellow citizens have rushed to celebrate our Independence. President Reagan said, “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” We are taught in 2 Chr 7:14, Mt 5:13, and 1 Tim 2:1-8 that those who believe in Jesus Christ play a leading role in our nation’s welfare.

The word translated “humble” in 2 Chr 7:14 is ka?na?, pronounced “kaw-nah.” The primitive root of the word means to “bend the knee.” One pastor told us that the congregation of his church, established in the 1800s, had never in its history fallen to their knees to pray together. He said that when they did, the presence of God’s spirit and the prayers they uttered were like none before. They were heartfelt and powerful.

John Adams wrote his wife, Abigail, after the 2nd Continental Congress voted to pass the Declaration of Independence: “[This] will be the most memorable Epocha in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” (see Founders Online)

Also, FRC is partnering with the National Day of Prayer and the Awakening America Alliance to promote Call2Fall together with 31 Days of Prayer for our Nation (see video), beginning with Call2Fall on Sunday, July 1st. Will you repent with us, and seek God’s face, asking Him to have mercy on America and to send the revival we so desperately need so that our grandchildren might know Him and enjoy the liberties and blessings those of us who are older have enjoyed in this nation?

Honestly, we need a Call2Fall every day, but setting apart the Sunday nearest our nation’s birthday as a time get on our knees in humble, repentant prayer is a step forward!

Help us launch Call2Fall this year by doing these three things:

  1. Sign up by clicking “Count me in!” on the Call2Fall home page. And join us in crying out to God together.
  2. Urge your friends and family to participate. Check out our Resources page for all kinds of things you can use to promote Call2Fall within your family circle and social network. Like us and post comments on our Facebook page and yours.
  3. Contact your pastor and urge him to lead your church in the Call2Fall and to become a host church. Folks are looking for a church that shares the motivations and values of Call2Fall.

Praying for God in America,
