Digital Content Editor

FRC’s digital platforms are at the tip of the spear in reaching our audiences on a daily basis. There is very little that FRC produces that doesn’t reach our constituents through email, our websites, mobile apps, or other online outlets. Curation and distribution of that content in the digital sphere is crucial to maintaining FRC’s brand and influence. If our platforms aren’t kept current with well-curated content that’s appropriate to the moment, it reflects poorly on FRC’s reputation as a leader in promoting a biblical worldview in policy and culture.

The digital content editor (DCE) will serve as a primary curator of FRC’s content on and through its digital platforms. Currently, those platforms include email, websites, and mobile apps, but as the digital landscape evolves, so will these outlets. The DCE will ensure that website content is always current and is appropriately placed. The DCE will work with other team members in prioritizing content in a manner that works best for the organization as a whole.

Technical aptitude is a must, as the DCE must learn to navigate and operate in our various content management systems with ease, as well as be cognizant of how our different systems affect one another. The DCE must absolutely be a strong writer and be able to adapt content as necessary and appropriate to the correct medium. Occasionally the DCE will need to create content to promote or support existing FRC content.  A high level of discernment is required as well, as many of the areas in which FRC operates are highly sensitive. The results of the DCE’s work will more often than not be public, so great care should be taken in making sure all requests are correct and up to FRC standards. The DCE will work with other departments to schedule and deploy items including (but not limited to) website postings, mass emails, alerts, push notifications, mobile app postings, blog posts, and – when needed – help with social media. Because the digital sphere doesn’t sleep, the DCE must be willing to deploy and curate FRC content whenever and wherever necessary within reason, even if outside normal business hours.

This calling isn’t for the faint of heart, but it makes a difference. It’s positioned on the front lines of the effort to advance faith, family, and freedom in public policy and the culture from a biblical worldview. It’s our prayer that God will use the person who works in this role to further his kingdom by serving Christians across American in creating a prevailing culture in which all human life is valued, families flourish, and religious liberty thrives.
