State and Local Affairs Legislative Analyst

This key position on the Government Affairs division team will report to the Senior Director of Government Affairs and serve both the state and federal teams with research, analysis, and writing for various audiences.

Assist the State and Local Affairs Legislative Assistant with researching and tracking relevant pro-family state legislation. Assist in the production and distribution of alerts and briefs that will facilitate the passage of pro-family state legislation. Fulfill Family Policy Council and constituent inquiries and requests as needed. Assist the Senior Director of State and Local Affairs and the Vice President for Government Affairs as needed. Supply computer support in areas of research and reporting.

Government Affairs is, by its nature, a responsive role with short timelines that shift often. To meet this challenge the Government Affairs division seeks to foster a team atmosphere where all members pitch in as needed to get the job done. The successful applicant should expect to join a friendly, motivated, and mission-focused team that shares the load with one another to serve officials, FPCs, supporters, the FRC family, and other constituencies with cheerful excellence. This will occasionally entail long hours and other duties as assigned.This position will work from the Washington, DC office.

Minimum Requirements: This position requires a college degree and up to two years of office experience; or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. This position also requires computer experience working in a Windows environment, dealing with database programs. Working knowledge of the legislative process and/or Capitol Hill experience; good administrative and organizational skills; working knowledge of pro-family policy issues are also required. Familiarity with FRC’s specific policy stances, and with Quorum is a plus. This position will work from the Washington, DC office.
