Face to Face with God's Grace

June 28, 2017

By Ian Stephens

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8)

We are all broken people. We lie, cheat, and sin. We walk the path of this world, and follow the desires of our own heart. By our own nature, we should all be too far gone to ever be redeemed. But God has a plan for all of us. He sent down His only son to save us from sin and our own destructive ways. He has covered us in His great mercy and grace. Titus 2:11 says, "For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people."

God has covered each of His people in grace so that we can stand up out of our sinful past, and continue walking forward in our journey with Him. There were people who were beyond redemption in their own eyes, and in the eyes of others around them. But God sent down His grace and mercy and raised them up. God raises broken people up to be a beacon of hope for others who are similarly broken. It says in Ephesians 2:7 that God saves lost people so that they can be pointed to, by future generations, as examples of his incredible grace.

But God's grace is not a gift that we can waste. We must take this great opportunity that He has given us and use it to help heal the world and to expand His ever-growing kingdom.
