With Father's Day this weekend and summer vacations starting, most Americans are thinking about pool parties and warming up the grill. But in Washington, D.C. we have a bigger battle heating up. FRC is confronting the raging, cultural fire of abortion-on-demand.
Since January, Americans have been appalled as we have seen coordinated attempts in state after state to pass the most extreme abortion expansion bills ever. It began in New York with the "Reproductive Health Act" that legalized abortion up to the day of birth and denies medical care to babies who survive an abortion attempt. With the usual suspects of Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Emily's List behind the scenes, other states like Virginia, Illinois, and more have or attempted to institute similar legislation.
Our nation is at a defining moment. Will we sit back and watch silently as radical liberals applaud these appalling policies, or will we stand up for the most vulnerable members of the human family against infanticide?
Thankfully, we have allies in the states and on Capitol Hill that won't take this lying down. Americans are pushing back: 250 pro-life bills have been introduced in 41 states -- just since the start of 2019.
And in Congress, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) have filed a discharge petition on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act that would provide care for these innocent babies. However, Democrats have blocked 56 times a House floor vote on this common sense, life-saving measure, because Nancy Pelosi and her friends want to sweep this issue under the rug. We won't let them, but we need your help!
FRC launched the End Birth Day Abortion campaign to send 90,000 newborn baby hats to Speaker Pelosi as a tangible reminder that every baby deserves to be welcomed into life with warmth and protection, not left to die. We're over half way to our goal and need your help to cross the finish line. For every $9 you give, we will send a baby hat on your behalf to Speaker Pelosi to show her that Americans agree: every baby should be protected.
With our fiscal year ending on June 30, we are racing to finish this mission and start our next fiscal year strong for the battles ahead for faith, family, and freedom. Please help us send a message to Congress today for the unborn. Join tens of thousands of others to take a stand for life and invite your friends to become a part of the solution as well. Together, we must speak up for those who have no voice.
