Protect our children.

Dear friend,

The invasive lie of gender identity ideology targets our children, mutilates their bodies, and refuses to allow parents to stand in its way. This agenda is an assault on the image of God in every child (Genesis 1:27).

But thankfully, there's an encouraging movement spreading across the country, with some state legislators beginning to step forward to protect minors.

Family Research Council has been actively recommending state (SAFE) Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act-style bills based on the model legislation we developed, which aims to protect children from harmful, irreversible gender transition procedures.

In April 2021, Arkansas became the first state in the nation to enact such a law. Robin Lundstrum, an Arkansas state representative, dared to stand up for the bill. She then led the charge to override the governor's veto and it became law.

FRC has been working with states like Arkansas since the beginning to help policymakers understand the medical and social science on this issue, as well as the public health implications if we don't stand up and protect our kids.

Now multiple states are considering and passing legislation to protect children from gender transition procedures. "There are 93 versions of [the SAFE Act] moving forward," FRC's Vice President for Policy and Government Affairs, Travis Weber, told Washington Watch in February. "We've been having hearings the last few weeks that FRC has been involved in. Some of these bills are starting to pass state houses and legislative bodies. And so there is a lot of momentum."

The gender transition lie is starting to unravel. And as more concerned parents, citizens, elected leaders, and detransitioners stand up and speak the truth on this issue, others will follow.

Will you stand with FRC in our efforts to educate and support policymakers seeking justice under the law to protect minors?

This year alone, legislation to protect minors from gender transition procedures has moved forward in state legislatures in Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Tennessee.

Momentum is growing, but make no mistake, the opposition is well-funded and coordinated.

The pro-transgender medical lobby doesn't want to lose out on the lucrative business of setting a child on a life-long medical journey in which he or she will depend on medications to manage the consequences of "gender transition" surgery.

The Left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has already threatened to take Tennessee's measure to court and are trying to defeat it with a parental rights argument (arguing that parents have a right to transition their children). "The ACLU will claim they are fighting for equality for everyone under the law," Weber commented. "But the children that are being harmed need reality under the law."

FRC's Director of the Center for Family Studies, Dr. Jennifer Bauwens, has testified in multiple state hearings on behalf of vulnerable children. When asked about the comorbidities often associated with gender dysphoria, she testified, "These are children, and we are doing some of the most radical things, the most radical interventions that exist in the DSM-V-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders Edition 5-TR), and there isn't evidence to support this."

We must dismantle the lie! It takes all of us to put forward and support the policies that will protect our children.

This is not a partisan issue; it's about reality. And while the mainstream media and medical establishment perpetuate a dangerous lie that targets our children and mutilates their bodies, we must boldly stand for truth in our spheres of influence.

PARTNER WITH FRC

Truth can put a stop to this harmful ideology. We are already seeing it happen even in Europe, with multiple countries (the U.K., Finland, France, and Sweden) now walking back a formerly full-throated endorsement of this medical experimentation on young children.

And as the American public learns what "gender-affirming care" actually does to the bodies and minds of our young children, more will stand up for the sake of the next generation.

Billy Graham is credited with saying, "Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened."

Courageous people are stepping forward to protect our nation's children--bringing hope to the desperate. Let's continue to pray for protection over our children and that truth will be proclaimed across our nation.

There is hope, and with your help Friend, we can turn the tide!

Thank you for your generous support. Your gift today will ensure FRC is fully resourced to face the challenges ahead so we might stand on your behalf to advance faith, family, and freedom for future generations.
