A Leftist Celebrity Scientist Is Trying to Turn Young Doctors into Activists
The largest pediatrics hospital in the country, Texas Children’s Hospital, has been pumping out training videos for young doctors that are pushing a leftist agenda. Dr. Peter Hotez, a dean at Baylor College of Medicine, director of the Center for Vaccine Development at Texas Children’s Hospital, and a far-left activist, is working with the hospital to influence the ideology being forced in this workplace.
Hotez claims to be a “scientist,” pediatrician, and an advocate in vaccinology. He began gaining recognition during the pandemic when he vocalized his opinions on the importance of vaccines and the origins of the COVID pandemic. He had some radical opinions — one being that anyone in opposition of his “truth” about the coronavirus should be thrown in jail.
Hotez has found himself in a high-profile Twitter war with Joe Rogan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Elon Musk over the weekend, regarding the validity of his opinions on the pandemic and vaccine mandates. It began with an interview between Rogan and Kennedy regarding Kennedy’s stance on vaccines during the pandemic. Hotez tweeted about this interview, claiming that there was a dangerous amount of “misinformation” and that it put a target on his back.
Rogan then challenged Hotez to a debate, and he declined, saying, “… I’m open to a number of different options, but to be pressured to give you an answer on Twitter, now, with a ‘take it or leave it’ demand, that’s not how I work. Honestly, I don’t even think that would be in your best interests.”
Amid all of this public chaos, Hotez has been busy infusing his political views into his job at the hospital. The Daily Wire conducted an investigation of Texas Children’s Hospital, noting that “the report talks about how other trainers discussed the need to control language, as well as other issues that seemingly have nothing to do with medicine such as immigration and microaggressions.” Hotez was recorded advocating for treating those who questioned the COVID narrative as terrorists, the report wrote.
Regardless of how much the Left seems to support Hotez and his opinions, it’s important to keep in mind that Hotez has been blatantly incorrect on his “science.” Last December, the World Health Organization (WHO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, posted a video of Hotez rattling off “facts” about “anti-science” aggression, and how “anti-science now kills more people than things like gun violence.” His quotes were wildly exaggerated and had no factual evidence, and in turn made the WHO look bad.
Chris Gacek, senior fellow for Regulatory Affairs at Family Research Council, told TWS, “This guy is no scientist — he’s another thug doctor parading around as an expert. Nobody who is doing the real science has the time to be doing all these TV hits. Hotez wants to treat COVID-19 vax skeptics as terrorists, which is insane.”
Hotez’s opinions have permeated the media and have vastly affected Texas Children’s Hospital. His top priority is to get everyone to think like him, and he wants to criminalize those who do not. With these new hospital training videos, it seems like he wants everyone in the hospital to start controlling their language, and lean left. The bigger picture here is institutionalized thought processes and forcing everyone to talk and think the same way, and Hotez is the frontrunner.
