Commentary

May 22, 2013

In Oklahoma, removing plaque can lead to some real "truth" decay. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. In Muldrow Public Schools, the Left is issuing its own commandment: Thou shalt remove thy biblical monuments. After decades of posting the 10 Commandments in classrooms, the District finally removed the displays after the Freedom From Religion Foundation threatened to sue. "It was a tough thing to deal with," said Superintendent Ron Flanagan, especially with how the kids rallied to keep them. Despite everything from a petition drive to a 10 Commandment t-shirt campaign, the school finally relented. Most families understand, but they also realize Christianity is under attack. First it was taking prayer out of public schools, then removing nativities from the courthouse lawn. Now extremists like this Foundation are trying to finish the job by squeezing faith out of every pocket of society. And if people don't wake up to this agenda of secularizing America, these extremists will have the last word. And that word won't be freedom.
