Urgent: Tell Senator Heller to Keep His Promise to Defund Planned Parenthood!

In a flip-flop heard 'round the world, Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) declared at a town hall this week: "I have no problems with federal funding for Planned Parenthood," the nation's largest seller of abortions. But when asked explicitly if he would commit to support federal funding for Planned Parenthood, Heller responded: "Yeah, we'll continue to look at this issue," before adding: "I will protect Planned Parenthood." Heller's spokesperson later backtracked in a subsequent statement that "he is opposed to providing federal funding to any organization that performs abortions and is supported by taxpayers' dollars."

On February 22, the Trump administration released a statement rescinding previous Obama administration guidance dealing with students who identify as transgender. Contrary to almost all the news reporting on this story, the real question addressed by the new administration’s guidance is not (at least not directly), “Which restrooms or locker rooms should students who identify as ... The 'Bigly,' and Necessary, Humility of Judge Neil Gorsuch

by Travis Weber

Travis Weber is Director of the Center for Religious Liberty at Family Research Council. This article appeared in The Hill on April 6, 2017. With the Senate poised to vote this week on Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to replace the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, one quality of Judge Gorsuch has been widely overlooked by scribes and talking heads throughout cable news coverage. While Judge Gorsuch may have garnered the most press during his day two confirmation hearing exchange with ... (more)
