Tried and True Blue!

Tried and True Blue!

February 16, 2017

Even members of Congress sometimes deserve a pat on the back! This morning, I was on Capitol Hill with our Government Affairs and FRC Action teams to applaud the members who earned a perfect 100% on FRC Action's annual scorecard. This year there were 139 congressional "True Blue" winners, a bumper crop of pro-family lawmakers! Many of the awardees dropped by the reception hosted by FRC Action, and it was encouraging to see the camaraderie in the room among the leaders who take the slings and arrows as they stand for family values.

So many leaders expressed their gratitude for the work FRC does and said how honored they were to receive our award. Often times these members only hear from their constituents when they do something wrong, especially on value issues, and while that's important it is equally necessary to thank them as well for their stalwart stance. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was among the members who attended, as well as the Values Action Team Leadership including Representatives Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.), Robert Aderholt (R-Ala.), Jody Hice (R-Ga.), and Randy Hultgren (R-Ill.).

In the last election, we witnessed the collapse of the Obama legacy. After the spectacular failures of Obamacare, the demoralization of our military, the explosion of lawlessness, and an obsession with social engineering, Americans finally have the opportunity to rebuild the country they once knew. These members of Congress are the cornerstone of that effort. On behalf of everyone they represent, congratulations to our latest class of "True Blue" winners! Our hope is that this session, they'll be joined by many more like them.

This year, FRC Action scored votes on everything from defunding Planned Parenthood and repealing Obamacare to protecting women from the military draft and stopping government discrimination against pro-lifers.
