Sexual Risk Avoidance

A public health education strategy that focuses on condoms and contraceptives is merely “sexual risk reduction.” Family Research Council supports a more robust approach of “sexual risk avoidance” education. Abstinence before marriage and fidelity within marriage are the most effective methods of preventing sexually transmitted diseases, out-of-wedlock pregnancies, and negative outcomes associated with premarital and extramarital sex.
