The church is one of the five fundamental institutions that make up a civil society (the other four being the family, the school, the marketplace, and the government). It is the primary institution through which Christians worship God, become spiritually nourished, and come together in fellowship with other believers to build each other up and bear fruit in the community at large through Christ’s command to love one another.
