WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Yesterday, Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.), appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. On the show, Sen. Strange shared about yesterday's lunch meeting between President Trump and Senate Republicans, where they discussed the path forward to repealing Obamacare.

Sen. Strange discussed why he is optimistic that President Trump is dedicated to repealing Obamacare after yesterday’s lunch, "I came away with a sense of commitment from the president that we would fulfill the promise that every Republican senator made – that we would repeal and replace Obamacare. And the president made it very clear that he was willing to work with everyone, get everyone in a room, and figure out how we can get to a resolution… I don’t see how we can go home and face voters if we don’t do what we promised to do." Sen. Strange went on to say, “There’s no option, we have to repeal it… The Obamacare law has failed. It’s already failed. It’s almost a corpse...”

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, the host of Washington Watch, responded, "I would encourage you, with a fresh perspective coming from the states to a place that is sometimes insulated from the rest of the country, to confidently make those arguments because I think the other senators need to hear that. They need to make these decisions or those that the government has some responsibility to help… those who are most vulnerable among us, will be the ones who ultimately end up suffering,” concluded Perkins.
