WASHINGTON, D.C. – Family Research Council’s Arina Grossu, Director of the Center for Human Dignity, will visit Yale University October 6 - 7 to attend the 5th annual pro-life conference, Vita et Veritas. Hosted by Choose Life At Yale (CLAY), the theme of this year’s conference is "Pro-Life Is Pro-Woman." A variety of distinguished voices in the prolife movement, including former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, will gather to discuss the intersection of the promotion of women's rights and the right to life. Arina Grossu will add to this discussion sharing her knowledge of the dangers abortion poses to women’s health and safety. Her talk is entitled "Dangerous, Legal, and Common: How Abortion Threatens Women's Health and Safety."

Ms. Grossu made the following comments regarding her talk:

“Not only does abortion kill children, but it has many physical and emotional risks for the mothers. Additionally, the modern U.S. abortion practices are dangerous, threating women’s health and safety.

“For example, in its 2016 report, ‘Unsafe’ Americans United for Life documents that 227 abortion providers in 32 states were cited for more than 1,400 health and safety deficiencies between 2008 and 2016. The top violations cited included failures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment and to follow infection control policies, failure to accurately document patient records and keep patient medical information confidential, expired medications and medical supplies, failure to follow or periodically review internal health and safety protocols, failure to purchase and maintain the required equipment, and failure to monitor patient vital signs, among others.

“This is unacceptable. Anyone who claims to be a feminist but turns a blind eye to the violations and abuses of the abortion industry in the name of abortion ideology, is doing a great disservice to women. We must protect both women and children from the scourge of abortion,” concluded Grossu.
