WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. Sen. Cotton shared why he called for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office to be investigated in regard to Dr. Christine Ford’s confidential letter being leaked to the media.

Senator Cotton commented, “Ms. Ford sent a letter confidentially to Dianne Feinstein in late July raising these allegations. She asked for Sen. Feinstein’s confidences. There’s a well-established procedure for these kinds of allegations. The two senior members of the committee, the Republican Chuck Grassley and the Democrat Dianne Feinstein, would work with the FBI to review the matters very discretely and privately.” Sen. Cotton continued, “Dianne Feinstein hid it from Chuck Grassley. She hid it from the FBI. She and Chuck Schumer kept it in their back pocket until after Judge Kavanaugh’s hearing, until after they had a private session to ask about any sensitive matters. And then leaked it to the media right before the vote solely to try to torpedo his nomination.”

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, and host of Washington Watch, added, “I see this is about controlling the court. The Left – who has had the benefit for almost the last five decades of controlling our courts to some degree – this is the only way they can impose their policies on the nation. They can’t do it legislatively, so they have to have the courts. And they are desperate to keep that avenue open.”
